                Site Manager Jobs

                Site manager jobs are the types of jobs involving the supervision and management of all operations associated with a given construction project. Your main role as the site manager is to ensure that the project is completed right on schedule and within the budget. These projects include the construction, the maintenance, and the refurbishment of new or existing infrastructures. Examples of buildings are factories, home units, hospitals, hotels, malls, offices, and schools. Site managers jobs are sometimes referred to as construction manager jobs or site agent jobs.

                Oral communication skills are important in site manager jobs. As the site manager, you are responsible for the actions of the tradespeople working on the project. You have to maintain a close working relationship with your colleagues to ensure that they are doing their job properly. Being the site manager makes you the project leader so you have to keep on inspiring and motivating the tradespeople to give their best in everything that they do. Since site manager jobs will require you to prepare reports about the latest progressions in the construction project, you also need to have excellent written communication skills.

                Since the entire construction project is your responsibility, you need to have exceptional organisational and management skills to be successful in your chosen field. You also need to be good at making decisions so the operations in the construction project can run smoothly.

                Most employers will require you to have a bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, management, or any related field to qualify for site manager jobs but some will only require you to undergo an apprenticeship program. An apprenticeship program in construction will last for about three to four years. You need a previous working experience in the construction industry for at least three years to be considered for a managerial post. Background in cost estimation, project management, or strategic planning will be very beneficial.
