    Computer-aided design, or CAD, refers to a two or three-dimensional design created using computer software such as AutoCAD.     Becoming a CAD Drafter


    Companies looking to hire CAD drafters usually require at least a high school diploma. College courses, training courses, and specialized studies on related topics are required for high-end CAD drafter jobs. Communication skills are a must for designers in order to discuss and report on conceptualization, design, and construction with superiors, clients, and co-workers. What employers seek most is experience with CAD software depending on the industry being applied for. CAD drafters are paid depending on qualification, experience, and the project size.
