Financial Planner Jobs

The work of a financial planner involves mapping out a client's expenditure in all areas that involve finance. They can also provide advice to clients on the proper procedures in various financing requirements. The area of a financial planner's knowledge and expertise may include:

1.) Banking finance (such as mortgage loans, insurance, personal loans) or,
2.) Government finance (retirement benefits, income tax returns).

A financial planner must carefully monitor cash flow and take note of a client's financial progress.

Financial Planners may also serve as the client's representative in various business transactions. Their job entails a lot of interaction with people from various levels of society, so communication skills must be well refined, especially when he acts on a client's behalf. He must also be able to explain the financial procedure fully in terms that the client will understand, because not everybody is well versed in business terms and conditions.

Financial Planner's Functions

Aside from communication skills, a financial planner must also be ready to perform the following tasks:

• Make accurate computations and records of business transactions
• Research and update clients about present market conditions and regulations
• Create a financial outline for clients and their investments
• Perform occasional business management duties

In the banking and finance industry, a financial planner usually advices clients on matters about loans. He takes into account a client's income, his ability to pay and what possible collaterals may be included, in order to advice a client on what types of loans would suit him best.

Job Requirements

To be a financial planner, you must have at least a bachelor degree in any business course, or a minimum of five years of applicable experience. These types of jobs are high paying jobs, so you can expect an annual income of $40,000 or higher, depending on your financial ability and number of clientele.
