There are varied Army jobs that you can consider depending on your interest, skills, and capabilities. Each job has specific requirements that must be met.
For example, Army officers command, train, and motivate soldiers. They work at the middle and executive management level within the organisation. Army officers specialise in different areas based on their training and qualifications. Army officers should have leadership, motivational and organisational skills in order to do their job efficiently and effectively.
The Army is made up of specialist branches called corps. Some of these corps are the following:
Army Aviation Corps (e.g. pilots) are responsible for the maintenance and operation of aircraft.
Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Corps (e.g. Electrical, aeronautic engineers) in charged of the Army's technical equipment.
Medical Corps (e.g. doctors, dentists) provide medical and health assistance and services to members of the Army.
Intelligence Corps (e.g. Analysts, operators) provide assistance in the planning and execution of army operations.
Artillery Corps assist in locating enemy targets and produce firepower needed during combat.
Those who render services in the Armed Forces, in whatever capacity, are trained to be professional soldiers. In each area of expertise, Armed Forces personnel receive both classroom and field trainings. Their lives are governed by discipline, order, and organisation.

Although Armed Forces services are voluntary, you must satisfy the following general requirements to be able to enlist in the Army:
- at least 17 years old on the day of entry
- an Australian citizen, or permanent resident
- have satisfied security requirements
- have meet aptitude standards
- leadership qualities
- problem-solving skills
- good communication skills
- technical knowledge and ability
- computer literate
- flexible.
Pay plus benefits
Like other Armed Forces jobs, jobs in the Army provide competitive salary ranges. Aside from the base salary which is dependent on competency level, rank and years of service, Army jobs offer financial incentives. Additional benefits include medical and dental coverage, travel and leave incentives, and house rental or mortgage assistance.
