              Senior Interactive Designer Jobs

              A senior interactive designer specializes in interactive media for modern outfits, particularly in online media. He or she usually works in the creative department and reports directly to a VP or creative director. Senior interactive designer jobs are usually offered in the advertising, media, and gaming industries. Depending on the business, senior interactive designers may work with internal or outside clients, and often handle a team of designers. Few companies offer the job at entry level; people in this position usually work their way up from team member to leader.

              The average pay for senior interactive designer jobs is Au$67,000. The range is from $40,000 to $104,000, with significantly higher pay for specialized skills such as animation, 3-D and coloring.

              Responsibilities

              Since it's a creative job, the bulk of your time will be spent at your desk working on designs. However you may have additional tasks as leader of a creative team. Expect to do some or all of the following:

              • Assist and guide junior designers in completing projects and improving their skills
              • Lead regular brainstorming and creative sessions for new and existing projects
              • Synthesize ideas and input from clients, team members, and other sources to create unique creative materials
              • Work with account managers to make sure all deliverables are sent on time and clients' needs are met
              • Stay updated on creative technology such as web publishing, scripting, and 3D animation software

              Qualifications

              Although largely skill-based, this job requires a relevant bachelor degree like other advertising jobs. The typical candidate will have an art or media degree with extra course credits in computer graphics, or a computer science graduate who specialized in creative design. Experience is almost always necessary. It also helps if you've taken recent workshops or seminars, since it's your job to keep up with the technology.
