Senior Graphic Designer Jobs

Senior graphic designer jobs are the types of jobs involving the creation and development of visual design concepts through the use of both texts and images. As the senior graphic designer, you need to show your creativity and originality by designing icons, logos, and layouts. The services of senior graphic designers are in-demand in the advertising industry.

Advertising agencies hire the services of senior graphic designers to produce the promotional materials that will be printed or broadcasted in an ad space. An ad space is an area where the graphic designs are showcased for the purpose of attracting more clients.

Before being employed for a senior graphic designer position, you have to work as a graphic designer for a couple of years first. Senior graphic designer jobs are promotional positions from lower positions such as junior graphic designer jobs and middleweight graphic designer jobs. Several companies require the employees and applicants to have at least five years of graphic design experience before they can be considered for senior graphic designer positions.

Since senior graphic designer jobs heavily involve the use of computers, you have to be proficient in using various graphic design and web production software like Adobe Photoshop, Flash, Adobe After Effects, Maya, and Adobe Illustrator. Knowledge of markup languages and stylesheet languages such as hypertext markup language (HTML) and cascading style sheets (CSS) is also an advantage.

Extensive knowledge and creative skills in design and concept, typography, layout design, freehand drawing, character design, perspective, and mechanical drawing are also important in senior graphic designer jobs. Aside from the mentioned skills, you also need to be creative, patient, innovative, flexible, and imaginative in order to make it big in the graphic design business. The usual academic requirement for senior graphic designer jobs is a college diploma in fine arts, advertising, information technology, or computer science.
